Adopt-A-Minefield (AAM) is a campaign of the United Nations Association of the USA, which engages individuals, community groups, and businesses in the United Nations' effort to resolve the global landmine crisis. The Campaign helps save lives by raising funds for mine clearance and survivor assistance and by raising awareness about the landmine problem. AAM's survivor assistance program was launched in September 2002. This program supports the work of organisations that are providing any number of vital services to landmine survivors in the most mine-impacted countries in the world.
Goals and Objectives: To clear landmines and help landmine survivors.
Theme
In order to apply for funds your organisation should undertake activities in one or more of the following areas: emergency and continuing medical care, physical rehabilitation, prostheses and assistive devices, psychological and social support, employment and economic integration.
Support is provided to disabled people’s organisations or organisations led by and for people with disabilities. Disability and rehabilitation projects involve physical rehabilitation or economic reintegration. Cross cutting theme is support to Cambodian organisations and capacity building for disabled people's organisations.
For Land Mine/UXO Action & awareness projects including all mine clearance AAM's funding goes through UNDP.
